Cathay Pacific has opened a yoga space called The Sanctuary by Pure Yoga at The Pier Business Class at Hong Kong International Airport, which is one of the best airports in the world.

Designed in partnership with The Pure Group, a premium fitness company, this space of 300 sqm is divided into 2 areas: the body sanctuary, dedicated to yoga, and the sanctuary of the spirit, where travelers can meditate.

Vivian Lo, Cathay Pacific’s General Manager Customer Experience and Design, said:

Well-being is becoming increasingly important to our passengers and we now allow them to relax before or between flights.

In January 2018, Cathay Pacific and Pure Yoga had already launched a similar concept with a series of in-flight videos designed to help passengers get into meditation and yoga.

In addition, Diamond and Gold members of the Marco Polo Club loyalty program arriving in Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific or Cathay Dragon enjoy free day-time access to all Pure Fitness centers or a choice of Pure Yoga classes, and up to 12 times a year.

For Rupert Hogg, the carrier’s CEO, the company is merely responding to passenger demand.

“You can see where we’re going with this, and there is big customer demand, but it’s very early days,” said Rupert Hogg, Cathay Pacific’s CEO, speaking to the South China Morning Post.
