Qatar Airways is well known for innovative seat design, the business class Qsuites are groundbreaking, but for those who don’t travel in business class, there’s some good news. Qatar Airways has announced some innovative improvements to their economy class service which will include more comfortable seating and a new menu.
The new enhanced economy seat
The new slimline seat design will improve legroom. The semi-fixed back shell design reclines to 19 degrees, but the great news is that if the passenger in front of you decides to recline to the maximum, the new design ensures your own comfort won’t be compromised, so no more feeling guilty every time you recline your chair. There is also the option to recline your chair by 6 degrees on take off, so you can get comfortable as soon as you board the plane. The new seats will be installed first on the Airbus A321 neos, but plans are to move to the new design for all aircraft eventually.
No changes to layout
It was thought that the seat configuration might be due to be changed, but these new seats have been designed to fit within the current row configuration.
Extra in-seat amenities
The seats also have some additional new features. 4K high resolution screens are being incorporated into the seat backs with a generous 13.3 inch size. There will also be fast charging USB C ports so your gadgets will be fully charged ready for landing and you won’t run out of charge mid-flight. The new seats also feature a lightweight headrest. With Qatar Airways rolling out high speed broadband for economy passengers, you certainly won’t be short of entertainment options during a long flight and the ability to stay connected is always a real bonus for travelers.
New menu brings larger portions in Qatar Airways Economy Class
Ever felt like you’re still hungry after an in-flight meal? Well there’s good news for you when you fly with Qatar Airways. The new meal service, which will be called Quisine offers bigger portions than ever before! The starters will be 20% larger, main courses 25% larger and desserts a whopping 50% larger. Great news if you have a sweet tooth. There will also be more choices available, so fussy eaters won’t have to worry that there will be nothing that takes their fancy any more. There will also be a focus on reducing single-use plastics with more products being reusable, recyclable and biodegradable.
