What is JetSuite?

JetSuite is a small company that started up over ten years ago flying private passengers across western US on four and six seater planes. In addition to this service, they also operate JetSuiteX which is a fleet of five 30 seater planes utilizing small airports and offering a premium service. These flights are classed as public charter due to having 30 seats or under, and so passengers have the benefit of not having to clear security and can arrive at the airport up to 15 minutes before take off. It’s an unusual model, but it’s one that appears to be working well for JetSuite.

Investment for expansion

The actual stake Qatar Airways has taken has not been revealed, but it has been confirmed that it is a minority stake in JetSuite and that it will also extend to JetSuiteX. JetBlue is also a stakeholder in JetSuite and it is also intending to increase its stake. This extra investment will enable JetSuite to expand, and there are plans in place to add another two planes to the JetSuiteX fleet soon, then another six to twelve every year afterwards. Vice president of JetSuite, Rachel Porges has suggested that the business may well expand to the East Coast.

The benefits of flying with JetSuiteX

This new and rather quirky way to fly is proving to be pretty popular and an expanded service will no doubt bring more fans of this different method of travelling short haul. The experience has been likened to flying on a private jet, but without the astronomical price tag. Flying with JetSuiteX will cost you more than on other commercial jets, but you do get first class style treatment and there are other benefits too. The main one is the time you save. You don’t need to go through the lengthy check in process, and on arrival, your bags are simply taken off the plane and handed to you. If you are in a rush to get somewhere, or you’re doing a round trip in a day, JetSuiteX could make all the difference. Plus, when you take into account that you might just be able to avoid staying over in an airport hotel, the price becomes even more reasonable. Or perhaps you’ve always wanted to fly on a private jet but could never afford it. This is a pretty close comparison. It’s definitely one of the most fun ways to fly!
