Naresh Goyal and his wife were arrested at the Mumbai airport as they prepared to leave India. The couple was arrested by immigration officials, according to the Indian Express.

The reason for the arrest of the founder of Jet Airways was not mentioned. At this time, it is unclear whether this arrest is related to regulatory investigations underway following Jet Airways’s bankruptcy.

According to local media reports, Naresh Goyal and his wife were going to fly to London via Dubai. Earlier in the month, India’s Minister of Corporate Affairs, ordered a detailed probe into Jet Airways’s books of accounts.

Jet Airways used to be one of India’s largest airlines. Fierce competition with low-cost airlines led to losses that eventually reached $ 1.2 billion. Last month, the airline had to capitulate and cease all activity.
