Qatar Airways’ flight QR1459 was the airline’s first flight to Mogadishu, Somalia. It landed at Aden Abdulle International Airport on Monday.
Qatar Airways will fly between Mogadishu and Doha three times a week, with a one-hour stop in Djibouti. Qatar Airways will operate Airbus A320, offering 12 business class seats and 132 economy class seats, for a total flight time of eight hours.

Qatar Airways currently operates 127 flights a week to 22 destinations in five African countries, and has one of the highest number of destinations in Africa among non-African airlines. Other airlines that fly to Mogadishu include Ethiopian Airlines and Turkish Airways. Qatar Airways was ranked best business class airlines in the world.
