Qatar Airways is well known for a superior onboard customer experience, so it’s perhaps no surprise that they have walked away with two product awards at the recent TravelPlus Airline Amenity Awards in Hamburg.
What are the TravelPlus Airline Amenity Awards?
These awards are a yearly event, and are entirely independent. The focus is on amenity kits and the related extras that you receive as part of your in-flight experience. So everything from bedding to pyjamas is assessed, compared from one airline to another, and ultimately the best are given their prestigious awards. The ceremony this year was held in Hamburg and was hosted by the Helmut Schmidt Auditorium.
Qatar Airways takes home two awards
Qatar Airways received two awards this year. Let’s take a closer look at just what they’ve done to deserve these accolades…
The Gold Award for First and Business Class Bedding
Fly first or business class with Qatar and you’re sure of a comfortable night’s sleep with their deluxe sleep collection bedding. Qatar Airways has put a lot of design time into creating the perfect bedding for sleeping in the sky. From the quilted mattress, to the plush duvet and the perfectly comfortable pillow, they’ve managed to get it spot on and that’s reflected in the coveted Gold Award they have received for their bedding.
The TravelPlus Readers Award
This year, Qatar won the TravelPlus Readers Award for their Limited Edition First and Business Class Pink Amenity Kit. This was given out during International Breast Cancer Month as part of an awareness campaign. This stunning kit was created by BRIC, the luxury luggage company from Italy. Created as a miniature version of their iconic suitcase, in the color ‘Rose Pomadour’ the kits were filled with high quality skincare products from Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio, an ethically-minded olive-oil company in Italy.
