Qatar Airways now has an impressive 55 cities on its list of European destinations with recent additions being London Gatwick, Mykonos, Thessaloniki and Cardiff. This expansion is of course only possible due to a demand for extra routes, but why are so many people choosing to fly with Qatar Airways over its competitors? We take a look into some of the reasons why many passengers prefer Qatar Airways.

Great connection times

No one likes to be waiting around when they’re travelling and this is just one of the areas where Qatar Airways excel, with many connections being 90 minutes and under and most under two hours. This may seem like a minor point, but for frequent flyers this can make a huge amount of difference.

The Doha Hub experience

It may appear to be a little extravagant to call a visit to an airport an ‘experience’ but if you’ve been to Qatar Airways hub, Hamad International Airport, you’ll know what we mean. Qatar Airways is renowned for its attention to detail across all aspects of their aircraft and services, and HIA is certainly no exception. It took nine years to build the airport and it’s clear that every single detail has been so carefully planned, designed and implemented resulting in an airport experience that’s second to none. Streamlined processes make your journey through the airport easy and stress free and there are some amazing extra facilities available if your stop-off at Doha is a little longer. The luxurious Oryx Airport Hotel is conveniently located within the terminal and there’s the most amazing spa complete with 25m swimming pool, a gym, hydrotherapy tub and shower room! Fancy a relaxing massage specifically designed to reduce jet-lag? No problem, this and many more treatments are available at the Vitality Spa.

True comfort for business passengers

Qatar Airways is very popular with business passengers and the airline has done all they can to make their flights as comfortable and relaxing as possible so business travelers arrive at their destination feeling refreshed and revitalized rather than exhausted and weary. The innovative Qsuite is a real game changer in the world of business class seating, with flexible seating allowing groups to adapt their space to their needs. Ideal for colleagues to get together, it’s also perfect for families, while solo travelers and couples can have their peace and privacy with sliding doors on all suites. With a comfortable flat bed, a fabulous food and drink service and state of the art media panel, flights seem to literally fly by!

More destinations to be announced

As a result of an open skies agreement between the European Union and Qatar signed in February 2019, it is expected that Qatar Airways will serve even more destinations in Europe, especially in the regions. This means that passengers could well travel from regions directly to Doha, and from there, fly to the rest of the world.
