On August 1st 2019, Qatar Airways started operating the Airbus A350-1000 on one of its three daily rotations between Doha, Qatar and Paris, France.

The flight is configured to carry 46 passengers in Qatar airways “QSuite” business class, and 281 in economy class. The A350-1000 replaces the Boeing 777-300ER. The other flights between Doha’s Hamad International airport and Paris’s Charles de Gaulle airport are operated with an Airbus A380 and a Boeing 777-300ER. The Airbus A380, also known as the biggest passenger plane in the world as of 2019, is likely to be retired and be replaced by a Boeing 777X as soon as it reaches ten years of age, as indicated by Qatar Airways’s CEO Akbar Al Baker. This will also help Qatar Airways fleet age to remain one of the youngest in the industry.

Qatar Airways, which was the launch customer of the A350-1000, has ordered 42 of these aircraft. 9 of them are already deployed to cover London, Tokyo, Singapore and Houston. The A350-1000 is the largest twin-engine aircraft ever built by Airbus.

Qatar Airways is the only airline that flies between Paris and Doha. The airline has published a video about the 6 hours and 30 minutes long inaugural flight.

Qatar Airways was recently acclaimed best business class airline in 2019. Its flagship Qsuite, offers the first-ever double bed in business class, on top of privacy panels that stow away, enabling passengers in adjoining seats or individual seats to create their own private room. It has been named best business class seat in 2019.
