Qatar Airways‘s first plane to Lisbon, Portugal landed on June 24, 2019. This new route strenghtens Qatar Airways‘s already strong destination map in Europe. Flight QR343 was greeted with a water cannon salute on arrival.

“The direct services to Lisbon is the latest addition to Qatar Airways’ rapidly expanding European network. We look forward to welcoming business and leisure travellers alike on board so that they may experience this vibrant destination, one of the oldest capitals in Western Europe. The new route will provide passengers travelling from Lisbon access to Qatar Airways’ extensive global route network of more than 160 destinations around the world.” said Akbar Al Baker, group CEO of Qatar Airways

Daily direct flights to Lisbon

The new daily direct flights to Lisbon will be operated by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner with a capacity of 22 passengers in business class and 232 passengers in economy class. Passengers boarding in Lisbon will be able to access more than 160 destinations worldwide via Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.

Flight QR341 takes off from Doha at 7:05am and lands in Lisbon at 12:55pm. Flight QR342 takes off from Lisbon at 14:30 and lands in Doha at 23.30pm.

Qatar Airways group also added Lisbon as a new destination for Qatar Airways’ air freight network. Qatar Airways cargo will offer a total capacity of 70 tonnes to and from Portugal each week.

Qatar Airways’ new destinations

This summer, Qatar Airways has added four new destinations on top of Lisbon:

The airline will add Mogadishu, in Somalia on July 1st, and Langkawi in Malaysia on October 15.

Qatar Airways was acclaimed best airline in the world in 2019, and its business class was rated best business class in the world in 2019.
